چکیده

A total of 179 urine samples were collected from patients suffering urinary tract infections admitted and visit Al-Hilla General Teaching Hospital in City, during a period April 2021 to December 2021, both sex (male female). Out 179,123 (68.7%) positive culture, whereas 56 (31.3%) showed no bacterial growth, To confirm the identification E. coli by use selective media (EMB agar medium, biochemical tests, automated Vitek 2 system 16s RNA specific primer presence (1492 bp) compared with allelic ladder, it was found that, deliberated main an etiological causes UTI other types bacteria which constitute 56/123 (45.5%), [45/56 (80.4%) female 11/56 (19.6%) male], while 67/123 (54.4%) related bacteria. Molecular detection some virulence factors genes studied, out isolates, hlyA gene detected 21/56 (37.5%) isolates (1177 sat 35/56 (62.5%) (410 ladder.

Phenotypic Assays to Determine Virulence Factors of Uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) Isolates and their Correlation with Antibiotic Resistance Pattern

OBJECTIVES Urinary tract infection caused by uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains is one of the most important infections in the world. UPEC encode widespread virulence factors closely related with pathogenesis of the bacteria. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the presence of different phenotypic virulence markers in UPEC isolates and determine their correlation with antibioti...

Determination of the Frequency of Adhesion Virulence Factors in Uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) Strains Isolated from Hospitalized Patients in Babol

Background and Aims: Uropathogenic E.coli is one of the most known causes of urinary tract infections, which may lead to a high rate of morbidity and mortality in high risk patients. In this regard, the virulence factors such as bacterial adhesion molecules have a critical role. The current study was intended to determine the molecular properties of adhesion genes in Uropathogenic E.coli strain...

UroPathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) Infections: Virulence Factors, Bladder Responses, Antibiotic, and Non-antibiotic Antimicrobial Strategies

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are one of the most common pathological conditions in both community and hospital settings. It has been estimated that about 150 million people worldwide develop UTI each year, with high social costs in terms of hospitalizations and medical expenses. Among the common uropathogens associated to UTIs development, UroPathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) is the primary...

Escherichia coli mediated urinary tract infections: are there distinct uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) pathotypes?

A variety of virulence genes are associated with Escherichia coli mediated urinary tract infections. Particular sets of virulence factors shared by bacterial strains directing them through a particular pathogenesis process are called a "pathotype." Comparison of co-occurrence of potential urinary tract infection (UTI) virulence genes among different E. coli isolates from fecal and UTI collectio...

Comparative virulotyping and phylogenomics of Escherichia coli isolates from urine samples of men and women suffering urinary tract infections

Objective(s): Escherichia coli strains are common pathogens that can cause urinary tract infections (UTI). This study aimed to assess E. coli phylogroups and virulence types in male and female UTI patients.Materials and Methods: In the present study, 160 uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) isolates (from both sexes) were assigned to phylogroups/types and some extraintestinal virulence factors were det...
